The house is coming along slowly and I have to get a nose procedure done in Calgary later this week. These are the big things on the brain these days. Work is slow and it is rainy still. Halloween is fast approaching and we did have our first taste of it today with Madeleine's class party. The shcool had a dress up day, and every friday there is an asssembly for the whole school first thing in the day. I took C and Wil dressed in their costumes and it was quite fun, it even turned out the place we play after, also at the school, was doing a dressup day so it worked out nicely. That was until CC found the paints and decided to get messy. She started out a fresh little tomato and quickly transfromed into a rotten one with colourful mould. The big kids at school had a dance which we checked out for a bit before a quick visit to Madb's kindergarten Halloween party. Unfortunately I was not thinking clearly and forgot the camera. Hopefully Lisa got some photos today, otherwise we will surely get some Sunday Night for trick or treating. Mad was a hula girl, and wil a cowboy today, we will see what they decide on for Sun. I need a costume myself for work Saturday night as we are hosting a big halloween party at work.

The never ending junk pile
Wow, we have a lot of stuff, junk or whatever it may be. I believe everything can be useful someday but I and probably mistaken. There is still stuff over in the rental house and still unpacked boxes here, and our labelling system in Calgary failed. The other day Will wanted to draw Spiderman but I couldn't locate a red marker or crayon. We are living in house chaos and i think the kids are hitting a stress plateau that demands some kind of order or routine. I feel that after today most of their stuff is here and accessible at least by me or Josie and there are regular patterns of at least meals and sleep and the weekly things like dance and swimming. I think we have been neglecting the settling in to play with them too much and not focussing on getting the daily grind and order established. Who will ever know what is the best balance. We will make it but there will be things to sort in the decade to come whether they are junk or behaviour.

Oktoberfest
At my work we celebrated Oktoberfest. I looked pretty cool and thought everyone would agree, so have a look. Murray Turner kindly came by to take my picture when he was in town a few weeks ago. November is MOvember so watch for my cool mustaches, if anyone wants to pledge for prostate cancer research leave me a comment and I will email you. Did I mention we had a bear across the street that Will C and I watched for a few minutes from inside It was pretty cool.

wow we are busy
I can't believe I haven't put anything up for almost 2 weeks. We haven't been hooked up the the inter web for too long either I guess. sorry if anyone actually misses us but we a re all the same as always. Trying to get things organized here is tricky with both of us working and MB at school and CeeCee having naps. Maybe soon we will get settled in. Any way I don't have much time and no big news anyway. We had a great thanksgiving with the Patrys and the Nielsens, Guess we were fortunate to have people take care of us while so busy. I hope everyone else had lots of fun too.

Kids at New house
Here are some pictures Josie took yesterday. I just returned from moving a few more boxes and checking it out at night time, it felt good to be home but I had nothing to do so I came back to our lovely rental home, where the real important things are.
MadB was student of the week for kindergarten at Mountainview. They receive a high five award at there weekly assembly, it was pretty cute, Josie cried for about fifteen minutes.
The House.
Moe about two weeks ago
Wow I only got to Friday on that trip so I guess I am probably being a little too detailed. Saturday we did the pool again and MadB went down the waterslide about six times after showing Josie her new bravery Friday evening, then lunch and then sight seeing again. We went to an art gallery at which there was a cool exhibition by two local women who work with fabric. The whole project was a maze of hangings with all sorts of interesting things concerning consumerism, packaging and regeneration, very interesting for the kids as there were hands on aspects. Next we visited the Dukhobor heritage centre, right next door. It was basically a cultural and agricultural commune/colony big into fruit growing a maintaining their culture. Verigin was one of their infamous leaders who was infamously assassinated by local government and business concerns, so goes the story. There is a lovely bronze statue of Tolstoy who was a major financial backer of the colony and their journey from Russia plus a beautiful suspension bridge they built across the Kootenay river as it meets the Columbia. Big fun and we kept busy at the library and the local museum until Josie was ready to go. We left for Nelson to spend the night . Nelson is a beautiful town and we never seem to give ourselves much time there but will one of these days. Beautiful setting and beautiful buildings and lots of interesting shops and things going on. We stayed overnight there and were gone again 14 hours later. The road travels north up the Kootenay Lake and is one of the most beautiful drives I’ve ever been on although it did rain all day. Cottages and sailboats lined the lakeshore giving a rustic atmosphere rather than the more commonly seen condo developments that pass for vacation properties these days. Big highlight if the trip on Sunday was the Ainsworth Hotspings perched on a steep mountainside above the lake. Here is a picture of me in the cave pool there. The kids were to scared to go in the cave which probably shows good instincts as it is pretty creepy, you go in about 15m. There is a nice big pool outdoors which they loved.
