Madeleine finished Kindergarten yesterday, only three years now and Cecelia will also be well under way into school. Mad's class had a slide show and certificate ceremony and then a family picnic in the gym as it was a bit rainy. It was a pretty fun morning and Madeleine really seemed to enjoy herself and her classmates with a sense that she really had accomplished something. Only 12 years until she is out of high school with a real sense of purpose and reason which hopefully she will actually understand.
Earlier this week we went for a bit of a hike and play and beach time down at a nearby provincial park. We thought it would be quite quiet as it was Monday but Madeleine's school was there for the year end trip, no kindergarten on Monday so she wasn't already there. Turned out to be a fun time with lots of kids we knew to play with. This is Sutherland falls in the park.
I forgot to take the camera to kindergarten's last day we'll have to see of Lisa has some pictures of MadB.

I had an excellent Father's Day, ripping a quad muscle in soccer and crashing my bike attempting to launch off of root while on a fast downhill. Pretty sure I have a concussion and broken rib. Our family doctor was actually there and I said I would be fine, he just laughed and said to come in if the headaches started. It is funny that these are the things I am concerned about my young children doing and hoping they don't end up severely injured. At least I will have a lot of anecdotes for them to think about before they do anything too wild. This is also the first time I have actually felt 40, soccer and biking injuries within 24 hours, what a geezer. Will had his first mountain bike experience that afternoon at a friends party on Mt Revelstoke. He found it a bit bumpy but still pretty fun, trying tricks and jumps taking no heed of my cuts scrapes limps and bandaids.
MadB and I at soccer, this was her best game by a long stretch getting at least ten touches and even two shots on net. I got hurt in a mens soccer tournament, not the
U6 league. Will and Cee are great team red supporters

Wow it has been two months since I did this last. Of course we have been busy, biking, soccer, playing, working, all that good stuff is going on now so we are never inside. The snow finally disappeared and the warm weather came so we are just playing and going outside constantly. All three kids are fine, Will rides his 2 wheeler, Maddie is just about to finish soccer and kindergarten, and Cee can almost speak in sentences. Normal progress I guess. Josie's parents have been and gone for the month covering Will and Mad's 4th and 6th birthdays. Josie had a 40th birthday, and ran a race in Vancouver with her friends to celebrate. I have just worked around here on the yard and on a new fence, which is all but finished, coached soccer and played on a baseball team. Too busy as far as I am concerned, o well too bad for me.
