We are having another snowy week, well over 30cms since Sunday. Madeleine took advantage of these conditions and made her first solo descent from day lodge to base. This is probably about 6 switchbacks of about 100 to 300 metres in length, covering maybe 100m vertical. She was a bit apprehensive at the first corner but once she got around it she was jubilant, "I CAN do it" she declared with big cheeky smiles. This Sunday we are doing the long run from the top of the gondola, William will be harnessed in and Madb will go it alone. I hope it all works as planned. Her Nordic lessons come to an end this week too, and I finally got to go to one last week. It was pretty fun and relaxing, it seems to be a nice family activity that I hope we can pursue more next year. Will is capable for shorter tours now but has trouble climbing still. I guess we have lots of time and we need to wait for CeeCee too. Everything else is pretty mellow here, Josie is planning to run a half marathon with Lisa and others in Vancouver this spring in regards to their 40th birthdays. Her training is going pretty good. I have a mountain bike and hike race coming in the fall for the husbands of the women going to Vancouver. I'll keep you posted on the training there. Otherwise things are fine and just the same as ever.

It has been a cold week here and we haven't done too much out of the ordinary. Clear sunny skies get everyone excited about spring but I still want to ski a bunch more. No real exciting news here, we'll have some interesting stories from thweekend I am sure. MadB did a project on the number 100 using great grandma Clara as a central focus, being older than 100. Josie took some cool pictures they are at night if you couldn't tell.

Heritage day was yesterday and the kids were off of school. Maybe it is family day here in BC but it was a holiday and it is a busy weekend in town. Good travel conditions plus the holiday havd made it a a busy weekend here. Unfortunately I have the night off but did capitalize on thursday night. Oh I should not complain it is nice to do nothing here with Josie. We spent the day yesterday at the ski hill and had lots of fun although it was incredibly busy. It was nice and sunny and mild. We saw many of our friends and acquaintances and I even got a run in on my own thanks to Tom. He managed successfully to watch 5 kids on the bunny hill while relaxing in the snow with what looked like an adult beverage. What a place to be.

Again I must apologize for the inconsistency of these entries. I am sure lots has happened in the past week or so like more and more snow and a few days of skiing. Madeleine and her dance class had a performance as part of Revelstoke's winter festival. It was pretty good fun and highly entertaining. I will try to find if it is posted somewhere on the world wide interweb. Will is just cool and CeeCee is growing teeth and developing a very strange sleep pattern.

I turned 40 years old this past Friday. It was a good weekend, with lots of fun and stuff. I had four of five days off so Josie and I went out once on our own and once to Lisa's and then we had a party last night. We had a good crowd with lots of good drinks and good food brought by many kind people. I even spent the whole morning yesterday on the hill trying to get my legs back into shape. Now I have hurt my knee though. The big kids and I are on our way up tomorrow as MadB is off school. Josie and I are going to sit down and watch a movie together tonight, a rare occurrence here. Wow I have had a fun and relaxing birthday weekend and I sure did need it.

Will and I got out for a ski today, Josie worked from home and CeeCee convalesced while MadB played at a friends house. I will start building myself back up for skiing after nearly a month off. We have had powder day after powder day and I missed all but one. We are hopefully in store for more this week as I think I will get to get out a few times. Mad and Will should get out again this week too to do some runs beyond the bunny hill. Will made out Ok with me today so I'll give it a try with MB, then see how three of us make out.

A sick month

We have all been sick and busy but we are trying to have fun in between. It started after a good powder day for me I had to leave a party to go to bed for the next four days. I had a flu then pneumonia and pluracy, the a week after I recovered MadB, Josie and Will had a flu thing run its course. CeeCee is the last to be sick and is down right now but beginning to peep so I'll put up a picture and go.
